The betting action this weekend at America’s Bookie says goodbye to 2016 in a big way with college football bowls including two semifinal showdowns in this season’s College Football Playoff. There is also early conference play in college hoops as well as a number of great matchups in the NBA and NHL. MMA bettors are in for a big night of fighting on Friday in UFC 207 featuring the long-awaited return of Ronda Rousey to the ring as a -140 favorite against Amanda Nunes. America’s Bookie also does a bang up job welcoming in the New Year with one final Sunday slate of NFL regular season games before the start of the postseason quest to Super Bowl LI.

There are five college bowl games on this Friday’s schedule starting with the SEC’s Georgia Bulldogs taking on the Big 12’s TCU Horned Dogs as 2.5-point underdogs in this season’s AutoZone Liberty Bowl at 12 p.m. (ET) on ESPN. The highlight of the day is a Big Ten/ACC clash in the Capital One Orange Bowl at Miami between the No. 6 Michigan Wolverines and the No. 11 Florida State Seminoles in an 8 p.m. start on ESPN.

Michigan comes into this game as a seven-point favorite with America’s Bookie and the total line has been set at 52. The Wolverines went 10-2 straight-up this season with an even 6-6 record against the spread after failing to cover in four of their last six games. Florida State is 9-3 SU with a 7-5 record ATS after going 4-1 ATS in its final five games.

The first of two College Football Playoff semifinal matchups on New Year’s Eve pits the Pac-12’s Washington Huskies against the SEC Champion Alabama Crimson Tide at 3 p.m. start on ESPN in this season’s Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl at the Georgia Dome. The No. 4 Huskies won their conference title as part of a 12-1 SU run overall, but they fell to 7-6 ATS after failing to cover in four of their last seven games.

The top-ranked Crimson Tide rolled through another undefeated season at 13-0 SU while going a profitable 9-4 ATS. They opened this matchup as 16-point favorites, but early money on Washington has driven down the current spread at America’s Bookie to 13.5. The betting line for the total stands at 54. Alabama has covered the spread in six of its last eight games while closing as a double-digit favorite in seven of those contests.

In a 7 p.m. start on ESPN in this season’s PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 2 Clemson Tigers square off in the second semifinal matchup on Saturday’s slate. America’s Bookie has the Buckeyes listed as three-point favorites in this Big Ten verse ACC tilt and the total line for the game has been set at 58.5. Ohio State went 11-1 SU this season, but after failing to cover in six of its last eight games it is an even 6-6 ATS. The total has gone OVER in three of its last four games.

Clemson went 12-1 SU on its way to another ACC title, but this was another team that was tough on bettors down the stretch with a 2-5 record ATS in its last seven games. The total has gone OVER in the Tigers’ last four outings.

The biggest showdown on Sunday’s NFL slate is an 8:30 p.m. kickoff on NBC between the 9-6 Green Bay Packers and the 9-6 Detroit Lions in a title bout for the NFC North Division crown. The Packers are riding a SU five-game winning streak (4-1 ATS) and America’s Bookie has them listed as three-point road favorites to ride that streak right into the playoffs. The total line has been set at 49.5.

The Lions have lost their last two games both SU and ATS on the road, but they return home with a 5-2 record this season ATS at Ford Field. Green Bay holds an 8-3 edge ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and it has gone 7-3 both SU and ATS in its last 11 road games against its bitter rival. The total has stayed UNDER in five of the last seven meetings in Detroit.
