The quest for Super Bowl LI gets underway this weekend with the Wild Card Round in the NFL. While these first four playoff games head the list of what to bet on this weekend at America’s Bookie, there is plenty of other betting action on the board. The NBA is front and center on Friday night with an ESPN double header of action and college basketball really heats up on Saturday with a number of the top teams in the nation taking to the court.
There is also a full schedule of games in the NHL as well as European soccer, PGA golf and both ATP and WTA tennis. Be sure to check the board at America’s Bookie for the complete set of betting odds for all of these weekend sporting events.
The Golden State Warriors continue to set the pace in the NBA’s Western Conference at 31-5 straight-up on the year and this Friday night on ESPN in a 10:30 p.m. (ET) tip out on the West Coast they will play host to the Memphis Grizzlies as 13-point favorites. America’s Bookie has set the total for this game at 214.5. The Grizzlies have dropped to 22-16 SU on the year with just two wins in their last six games both SU and against the spread. The Warriors are riding a SU four-game winning streak as part of an 11-1 record in their last 12 games, but they are just 4-8 ATS during this same stretch.
Turning to the NFL on Saturday, the 12-4 Oakland Raiders are making their first postseason appearance since 2002 and they will face the 9-7 Houston Texans as 3.5-point road underdogs with the total set at 37. Both teams have had their issues at the quarterback position forcing Oakland to turn to rookie Connor Cook while the Texans go back to Brock Osweiller as the starters for this game. The Raiders were a solid road bet all season long at 6-2 ATS going against a Houston team that is 1-3-1 ATS in its last five games at home. The total has gone OVER in four of the last five meetings in this AFC clash. Kickoff from NRG Stadium is set for 4:35 p.m. on ESPN.
Saturday night’s NFC tilt on NBC between the 9-7 Detroit Lions and the 10-5-1 Seattle Seahawks kicks things off at 8:15 p.m. and America’s Bookie has the Seahawks listed as eight-point home favorites at CenturyLink Field. The betting line for the total has been set at 43.5. The Lions stumble into the playoffs with a SU three-game losing streak and they have failed to cover in their last four games. The Seahawks are a shaky 2-4 ATS in their last six games and they are 5-8-1 ATS this season when closing as favorites.
The 10-6 Miami Dolphins rolled all over the 11-5 Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this season in a 30-15 victory on Oct. 16 as 7.5-point underdogs. This Sunday afternoon, they will go on the road to Heinz Field as 10-point road underdogs. The total line for this 1:05 p.m. start on CBS has been set at 46. Miami is 5-3 ATS on the road this season and it has gone 8-2-1 ATS in its last 11 games. The total has gone OVER in nine of the Dolphins last 10 games. The Steelers are riding a SU seven-game winning streak with a 5-1-1 record ATS. The total has gone OVER in three of their last four games.
The NFL saved the best for last this Wild Card Weekend with the 11-5 New York Giants going on the road to face the 10-6 Green Bay Packers. Both teams come into this game hot with New York winning nine of its last 11 games SU (8-3 ATS) and the Packers are in the midst of a SU six-game winning streak while going 5-1 ATS. Green Bay is currently favored by 4.5 points and America’s Bookie has set the total at 45. Kickoff from Lambeau Field is scheduled for 4:40 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on FOX.
