While the madness of March last all month long when it comes to college basketball, this is one of the biggest weeks of the month when it comes to betting on the games at America’s Bookie. This week’s slate leading into a big weekend of basketball at the top online sportsbook for US players features action across all the major conferences in their annual season-ending tournament. Not only will these games determine the final 68-team field for this year’s NCAA Tournament, they offer up some golden opportunities to cash in on some winning bets.
Tuesday’s slate marks the opening round of games in some of the major power conference tournaments, but the biggest matchup on the board is the championship game in the West Coast Conference between the No. 19 Saint Mary’s Gaels and No. 4 Gonzaga in a 9 p.m. (ET) tip on ESPN. The Gaels dropped both regular season meetings against the Bulldogs by a combined 33 points and they should open as heavy underdogs again when America’s Bookie posts the betting line for this WCC title game.
Looking ahead to some of the futures odds to win the ACC Tournament, North Carolina tops the list as a +175 favorite after winning the regular season title with a straight-up record of 14-4. The Tar Heels closed things out with a huge 90-83 victory against rival Duke as seven-point home favorites in their season finale this past Saturday. The Blue Devils beat North Carolina earlier in the season and they come into this week’s tournament as the fifth seed and a +450 fourth-favorite to win. This could set-up a possible rubber match in the ACC semifinals on Friday, but No. 4 Louisville is still standing in Duke’s way. The Cardinals share the same +400 betting odds to win as No. 6 Virginia. One team to watch could be the No. 2 seed Florida State Seminoles at +650 odds.
The Kansas Jayhawks come into Championship Week as the clear No. 1 team in the nation; holding down the top spot in both major national polls. At 28-3 SU on the year that includes a 16-2 run to the top of the standings in the Big 12, it is no wonder that they are listed as +135 favorites to add a conference tournament title to this year’s highly impressive resume. The Jayhawks’ biggest obstacle this week appears to be West Virginia as a +190 second-favorite on the betting board at America’s Bookie. The Mountaineers would first have to get by the winner of Thursday’s quarterfinals matchup between No. 3 Baylor and No. 6 Kansas State in a 9 p.m. tip on ESPNU. The Bears’ betting odds to win the Big 12 Tournament as the third seed have been set at +475 as the third-favorite as well.
One of the most exciting conference tournaments this week could be in the Pac-12 after a trio of teams made their way into the Top 10 in both national polls. The Oregon Ducks earned the tiebreaker over Arizona to claim the conference’s regular season title with both teams going 16-2. The Ducks are the favorites at America’s Bookie to win this tournament at +155 betting odds, but the No. 3 UCLA Bruins are listed as close +170 second-favorites to win this week.
Looking ahead at this bracket, Arizona and UCLA would face one another on Friday in the semifinals if the Wildcats can get past either Colorado State or Washington State in Thursday’s quarterfinals. The Bruins will face the winner of Wednesday’s USC/Washington game in their quarterfinals matchup. Oregon awaits the winner of Wednesday’s opening round matchup between Arizona State and Stanford for its first game on Thursday as well.
